Paul B. Hunter, MD, FACOG

Dr. Hunter was born in Charleston, WV and has lived there nearly his whole life. He considers himself a proud West Virginian. His wife, Lisa, a Weirton native, is also a proud Mountaineer. They have two wonderful children (Winston and Claire) that attend Saint Agnes School in Charleston.
Dr. Hunter began his private practice career in 1999 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. He was able to come home to Charleston in 2002. He had the distinct honor of working alongside Dr. Thomas and Dr. Fulcher until the passing of Dr. Fulcher in 2003. This led to the formation of Thomas, Hunter and Associates. Dr. Hunter has delivered several hundred babies in his career and has performed many gynecological surgical procedures. He takes pride in allowing time to discuss gynecologic problems with patients and offering medical and surgical treatment options. He strives to ensure his patients have undergone age appropriate screening tests and vaccines.
Dr. Hunter is a graduate of Charleston High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Oglethorpe University, in Atlanta, GA. He attended Medical School at WVU School of Medicine. He completed his Medical Residency training at Carilion Clinic Health System/University of Virginia, in Roanoke and Charlottesville, VA.
Dr. Hunter is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is also a member of the West Virginia State Medical Association and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Robert C. Byrd Sciences Center WVU School of Medicine. He also volunteers as Clinical Director of Woman’s Choice Center, Charleston, WV.
